Women's Leadership Summit

WLS Student Marketing Competition: Celebrating International Women's Day

March celebrates International Women’s Day. For this year’s Women’s Leadership Summit, we asked students across campus to take on an existing organization of their choice to design an advertisement that showcases their good or service, while celebrating International Women’s Day.

General Overview

Students chose an existing company and designed an advertisement which promotes their good or service, while celebrating International Women’s Day. The project is very open ended and students chose a variety of media, including videos, Instagram posts, billboards, posters, magazine ads, etc. We encouraged students to choose unique organizations which are personally interesting to them, including government organizations, companies and NGOs. The submissions were displayed in Miller Hall during the week leading up to the Summit.

Congratulations to the winners of the Marketing Competition! The first place winner was Srijoni Sengupta for the Malala Fund, second place was Lillian Zhao for Coca-Cola and third place went to Karen Peters and Kent Rollins for the Avalon Center. Students, faculty and WLS participants also voted for the winner of the Peoples’ Choice Award, won by Liz Jacob, Shannon Caietti and Patrick Linehan for Amy’s Smart Girls. All teams were honored at a recognition ceremony during the Summit and received cash prizes. You can see all the submissions to the competition below:
